Starting Solids for your baby?
Embrace the Mess and Raise a Happy Eater
Messy eaters = happy learners!
When your baby starts eating, things can get messy - but that’s a good thing because it helps your child:
- Develop hand-eye coordination
- Learn by feeling different textures of food
- Try new tastes and textures
- Develop a positive relationship with food
When you're starting solids, remember:
- Food is as much about experience and bonding together as it is about nutrition
- Use a washable bib to reduce the mess
- Place a mat under the highchair to make the clean up easier
- Offer soft, easy-to-grasp, age-appropriate foods in small portions to ensure safety and reduce choking risk Save this post and share it with other parents raising healthy eaters!
