Science of Spotless: Inside the Nestlé NANGROW Factory

Watch Soha Ali Khan & Dr Nihar witness the hygiene protocols at the Nestlé NANGROW Factory

Science of Spotless

In this first episode of the Nestlé NANGROW Transparency Tour, Soha Ali Khan & Dr Nihar Parekh visit the Nestlé factory in Samalkha, Haryana, to explore the "Science of Spotless".

Strict Hygiene Protocols

Before entering, visitors must undergo a complete "makeover," which includes:

  • Personalized Factory Uniforms: Specialized clothing and a change of shoes are mandatory.
  • No Jewelry: Metal jewelry is strictly prohibited because it can hold dust and bacteria, posing a significant risk of contamination.

The Three Hygiene Zones To maintain a pristine environment, the factory is divided into three distinct hygiene zones: Basic, Medium, and High. As you move deeper into the facility, the protocols become increasingly strict to ensure the product remains uncontaminated.

The "Red" Hygiene Zone and the Air Shower In the most critical areas, such as the "High" or Red hygiene zone, advanced technology is used to eliminate any remaining particles:

  • The Air Shower: Before entering, individuals must step into an air shower where, for 30 seconds, multiple high-velocity air jets hit from all directions.
  • Contaminant Removal: This process ensures that dust particles and any other potential contaminants clinging to the uniform are removed before they can enter the production area.

By opening its doors, Nestlé NANGROW aims to show parents exactly how their products are made, emphasizing a commitment to hygiene that is "squeaky clean".
