  1. Does Nestlé CERELAC® have preservatives ?

    No. According to FSSAI regulations, infant food must be free from preservatives, artificial colours, and flavours. Nestlé CERELAC® is made in accordance with Indian food regulations that control the composition of foods for infants and hence Nestlé CERELAC® has NO Preservatives, NO Artificial Colours, NO Flavors.

     

  2. Is Nestlé CERELAC® safe for babies ?

    Nestlé CERELAC® is safe to consume for babies. Nestlé CERELAC® has been designed with an optimal balance of cereals, milk solids, fruits or vegetables and fortified with vitamins and minerals. All Nestlé CERELAC® products are made in compliance with Indian food regulations.

  1. Does Nestlé CERELAC® have too much sugar ?

    As per Indian food regulations, sucrose can also be used as source of carbohydrate in case needed. We assure you that Nestlé CERELAC® recipes are formulated in full and strict compliance with local regulations and standards (FSSAI & BIS) pertaining to the requirements of all nutrients including added sugars. 

    We also have a range of Nestlé CERELAC® No Refined Sugar variants. You can choose to give either of the variant basis your preference and your pediatrician's advice.

     

  2. Does Nestlé CERELAC® No Refined Sugar range have any artificial sweetener?

    Nestlé CERELAC® No Refined Sugar range does not have any artificial sweeteners. 

    Nestlé CERELAC®  variants with No Refined Sugar contain milk solids, fruit or vegetable juice concentrates, cereals, depending on the variant, which contribute to the sweetness.
    Fruit Juice concentrates are derived from the extraction and evaporation of water from fresh fruit juice. We use both Fruit and Vegetable Juices, which are from natural sources.

     

  3. We see total and added sugars on the pack of Nestlé CERELAC® ? What are total sugars ? How are they different from Added sugars ?

    There is a distinction between added and total sugars in our products.  Total sugars are sum of added sugars and natural sugars present in the product. 

    Total Sugars in our infant cereal products are contributed from different sources. In these some sugars are coming naturally from milk (e.g. lactose), inherent fruit sugars from juices etc. as per the variant.  

    Added Sugar in our products comes from directly added sugars and small amounts as carryovers from cereal, fruits etc. 

    We transparently declare nutrient values including total sugars and added sugars on our packs as required by local food regulations.
